Card Stock and Sleeve Fit Guide

GSM, thickness, compression, and stack planning.

Plan stack height from measured materials

Card stock names and sleeve labels do not reliably state the finished stack thickness. For insert planning, measure a representative stack of printed cards and the selected sleeves in millimetres, including any compression you expect after packing.

How to apply it

A 100-card sleeved deck can gain substantially more height than the bare cards alone. Enter measured card thickness, sleeve layers, and deck-well clearance in the stack tool, then test removal with the actual components rather than relying on a nominal micrometer figure.

Questions and decisions

Coating, humidity, cut tolerance, sleeve brand, double sleeving, and compression change the result. Keep any claimed stock thickness tied to a supplier datasheet or sample and review it when the material changes.

Next step

Use the linked tools with your project’s documented inputs, retain the source or quote date beside the scenario, and update the decision when the specification changes.
