Component Volume Calculator

Estimate component volume, then deliberately add space for the way real pieces sort, shift, and resist perfect packing.

One component type 쨌 millimetres

Shape and quantity

Why packing allowance matters

Geometric volume assumes pieces tile perfectly. Components rarely do: discs roll, irregular shapes bridge gaps, and players need room to sort and remove pieces.

Method

Cuboids use width 횞 height 횞 depth. Cylinders and discs use pi 횞 radius squared 횞 height. The allowance is applied only after quantity is calculated.

Example

Use a 20??5% allowance for loose tokens, then compare with a bag, tray, or compartment mock-up.

Limits

This calculator handles one component type at a time and is not an automated nesting engine.
