How line-level reconciliation works
The expected amount is signed units multiplied by the entered base and rate. Negative units can represent a return adjustment. Reported minus expected becomes the variance, preserving whether the entered statement is higher or lower than the direct arithmetic.
Use the agreement's base
MSRP, wholesale price, and net receipts are not interchangeable. Put the already-selected contract base in royalty_base for each line. This tool intentionally does not guess the correct base from the description.
What a flag means
A flag means only that the numbers you entered do not reconcile within tolerance. It can reveal rounding, a transcription error, a different rate, or a missing adjustment—but it does not establish breach or underpayment.
Limits
Currency conversion, deductions, reserve movements, tier crossings, advance recoupment, and taxes require their own evidence. Use the specialized tools where applicable and confirm consequential findings with qualified advisers.
